Reconstruction portrait of Sara Bosschaert (1619) by Michiel Van Mierevelt, commissioned by Museum Prinsenhof, Delft, 2011/12

In 2011/12 Charlotte painted a reconstruction of the portrait of Sara Bosschaert next to Michiel van Mierevelt’s original painting in the museum’s gallery. The project was part of Johanneke Verhave’s research into Van Mierevelt’s painting technique and part of the exhibition Portrait factory Van Mierevelt. Visitors to the exhibition could ask Charlotte questions while she was painting.

For the exhibition Charlotte also made small educational reconstruction panels showing all stages in the creation process typical for Van Miervelt’s studio.
